The body is used as an entry point to explore, experience and release blocks that prevent us from tapping into the source of our infinite potential. Inward focus and meditative awareness transform our stress-producing mental dialogues and emotional reactions into self awareness and freedom. This extends to the challenges we encounter in life. Painful transition periods, relationships and crises become opportunities for practice. This approach is designed to cultivate integration, and create shifts in consciousness towards healing, lasting transformation and renewal.

We develop one pointed attention in the present moment. The past is gone and the future is not here yet so all we have is now. When you are fully merged with life as it shows up in the now you feel true joy. The greatest urge is to merge. Amrit Yoga banner The Posture of Confidence

Gurudev, Yogi Amrit Desai is recognized as Doctor of yoga by the president of India and is one of the pioneers of the authentic teachings of yoga in the West. He has been repeatedly honored for following in the footsteps of many of the great spiritual Masters such as Paramahansa Yogananada, author of’ The autobiography of a yogi’ and Swami Vivekenand in spreading the profound depth of the ancient teachings of India to the world. Gurudev founded and expanded the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health which grew to be the largest holistic health centre in North America with over 2000 visitors a week. He refined the core principals of Kripalu, kundalini yoga into Amrit yoga, the posture of consciousness. Today his approach is practiced by thousands around the world, with more than 5000 certified teachers in 40 countries.

I was deeply moved and transformed by Yogi Amrit Dessai’s words and heartfelt consciousness during my own healing journey from cancer. I knew that one day I would come back to learn the powerful teachings of Amrit yoga so that I could use these methods to help others on the same path. It is a rare and special privilege to study with a living yoga master, to be so close to the source of this powerful lineage of Shaktipat Kundalini Yoga, and to perpetuate its potential through my own sadhana and service.
